Faysal A. Yafi, MD, FRCSC, is Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Urology, David A. Pyle/OneRoot Foundation Endowed Chair in Men’s Health, and Director of Men’s Health and Newport Urology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), in Irvine, California.
Dr. Yafi specializes in comprehensive men's health, sexual medicine, and reconstructive urology, with clinical expertise in erectile dysfunction, Peyronie's disease, hypogonadism, male infertility, prosthetic urology, and male voiding dysfunction associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). His practice also focuses on minimally invasive BPH treatments, penile prosthetic surgery, and emerging regenerative therapies.
Dr. Yafi earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by his urology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in andrology, sexual medicine, and prosthetic urology at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
An internationally recognized researcher and educator, Dr. Yafi has contributed to more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, clinical guidelines, and book chapters. He serves as Secretary of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and Editor-in-Chief of the Video Journal of Sexual Medicine. He also directs the International Advanced Men's Health courses at UCI.
Dr. Yafi has received numerous awards recognizing his research, teaching, and leadership, including the UCI Excellence in Teaching Award, the Sexual Medicine Society of North America Young Investigator Award of Excellence, and the International Society for Sexual Medicine Rising Star Award. His work focuses on advancing innovative therapies, surgical techniques, and patient outcomes in men's sexual and reproductive health.
