Giancarlo Marra, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Turin in Italy. Dr. Marra also serves as a urologist at the Molinette Hospital in Turin, Italy. He is a nationally and internationally recognized expert, in particular in the field of urological oncology, with a focus on prostate cancer. His focuses include treatments with high-intensity focused ultrasound, irreversible electroporation, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Marra earned his degrees in medicine and surgery at the University of Turin. He then specialized in Urology with honors, with a thesis on focal therapy for prostate cancer, before earning his PhD in Bioengineering and Medical Surgical Sciences with honors, also from the University of Turin.
Dr. Marra has authored over 130 scientific papers and 150 abstracts published in prominent journals such as Urology, International Journal of Urology, European Urology, World Journal of Urology, and Surgical Endoscopy . He is an active reviewer of the main scientific journals in the urological field, and he has been and is currently invited as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
