Juan Javier-DesLoges, MD, MS, FACS, is an Assistant Professor of Urology and a Urologic Oncologist at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Javier-DesLoges specializes in robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery as well as transperineal procedures, including SpaceOAR Hydrogel (a rectal spacer), prostate biopsy, and cryoablation. His clinical focus is on the management of prostate, bladder, kidney, and ureteral cancer.

Dr. Javier-DesLoges earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He completed his residency in Urology at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and then completed his fellowship in Urology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark.

Dr. Javier-DesLoges’ research has been published in several books and journals, including Cancer, Journal of Urology, Urology, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and Urologic Oncology. He currently serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Urology. He is a co-investigator on clinical trials and holds a certificate in clinical trial design and development. His research grants have been funded by the National Institutes of Health and Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. Dr. Javier-DesLoges has served on numerous national committees, including the American Medical Association, American Urological Association, and the Urology Care Foundation.
