Jeff M. Michalski, MD, MBA, FACR, FASTRO, is the Carlos A. Perez Distinguished Professor and the Chief of Genitourinary Service at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Michalski's clinical interests include genitourinary oncology, sarcoma, prostate cancer, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and pediatric radiation oncology. His research interests include radiation dose escalation in the management of prostate cancer; conformal therapy to reduce toxicity in late neuro-cognitive effects in children with medulloblastoma, and assessment of quality of life in survivors of adult and childhood malignancies.
Dr. Michalski earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He then completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Michalski then completed a residency and a fellowship in Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he subsequently earned his MBA.
Dr. Michalski is Chairman of the Radiation Oncology Committee of the NRG Oncology Group, Chair of the NRG Oncology Theranostics SubCommittee, and a member of the Bladder Cancer Panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. He is Co-Chair of the National Cancer Institute’s Genitourinary Cancers Steering Committee, a member of the Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and the Medical Director of the center’s Clinical Trials Core. Dr. Michalski is additionally a member of the ASTRO Board of Directors, where he has previously served as the Secretary/Treasurer, Chair, and President.
