Andrea Di Giorgio, MD, is the Head of the Simple Operating Unit, Integrated Treatment of Advanced Peritoneal Cardinomatosis, the Promoter and Manager of Multicenter Research Studies, and a scientific and surgical collaborator in Gynecological Oncology at the Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS in Rome, Italy. Dr. Giorgio specializes in oncological surgery and the treatment of complex abdominal tumors. His clinical focus includes peritoneal carcinosis, benign pathologies, minimally invasive surgery, and cancer of the colon, stomach, pancreas, and rectum.

Dr. Giorgio earned his medical degree from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy. He then completed specialized training in Oncology Surgery and Endocrine Surgery at Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz and Hospital Universitario La Paz, both in Madrid, Spain. Dr. Giorgio then completed specialized training in Digestive Surgery at the A. Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome, Italy. He subsequently completed training in Laparoscopic Surgery at the Institut de Recherche contre les Cancers de l’Appareil Digestif (IRCAD) in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Giorgio then earned his certification in Laparoscopic Surgery at the Université de Strasbourg in France. He completed a fellowship in Oncological Surgery at the Milan Cancer Institute, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, in Milan, Italy, and a fellowship in Oncological Surgery at the Center Hospitalier Lyon Sud in Pierre-Bénite, France.

Dr. Giorgio is a member of the Italian Society of Oncological Surgery and the International Society for the Study of Pleura and Peritoneum, and a member of the organizing board for the Italian Peritoneal Carcinomatosis Registry. He is also a research investigator in numerous research groups, leading the CHECK Study, GOETH Studio Study, and the PC-IMPACT Horizon Proposal. Dr. Giorgio is considered a leader in his field and has written numerous articles featured in prominent journals.
