Read MoreStefano Fanti, MD, is a nuclear medicine specialist, a Full Professor of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy in the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences at the Università di Bologna in Italy, and the Director of the Nuclear Medicine Division and the PET Unit at the Policlinico di Sant’Orsola within the Università di Bologna. Dr. Fanti’s research interests are mainly focused on the use of PET in oncology, with particular reference to innovative radiopharmaceuticals.
Dr. Fanti earned his medical degree and specialized training in Nuclear Medicine at the Università di Bologna. After graduation, he began working as a nuclear physician for Maggiore Hospital in Bologna. Dr. Fanti was selected to lead the PET Unit, now one of the most active in Europe, from its inception.
Dr. Fanti is engaged in national and international research projects. He collaborates with numerous institutions, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). He is the author of more than a thousand papers, including 450 full articles published in peer-reviewed international journals, and dozens of books and book chapters. He has been an invited lecturer at more than 200 national and international meetings.
