William P. Parker, MD, is an Associate Professor of Urology and a practicing Urologic Oncologist at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Dr. Parker also serves as an educator of residents in the clinical management and surgical procedures associated with prostate cancer treatment. His clinical interests focus on the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of men at risk for and diagnosed with prostate cancer. Dr. Parker has a special interest in image-guided diagnosis and advanced robotic surgical techniques.
Dr. Parker earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed his residency in Urology at the University of Kansas. Dr. Parker then completed a Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO) Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Parker has authored and co-authored over 130 articles on prostate cancer and gives educational lectures nationally on prostate cancer screening, diagnosis, and management. He also serves as the Senior Editor of the American Urological Association Core Curriculum in Oncology, which functions as the source material for educating urologic residents nationwide. Dr. Parker is also a strong advocate in his local community for prostate cancer screening and men’s health.
