Daniel P. Petrylak, MD, is a Professor of Medicine, specializing in Medical Oncology and Urology, and Chief of Genitourinary Oncology at Yale University Cancer Center in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Petrylak is an internationally renowned medical oncologist and is considered a pioneer in the research and development of new drugs and treatments to fight cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidney. Dr. Perylak earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Perylak then completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Dr. Petrylak is a member of the Cancer Signaling Networks Research Program at Yale Cancer Center, which studies how cancer stem cells are regulated in the body and how they communicate with the surrounding tissues. He also currently serves as either the principal investigator or co-principal investigator on several Southwest Oncology Group clinical trials for genitourinary cancers. Dr. Petrylak is a member of several medical societies, including the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, and the American Urological Association. He also served on the Devices and Immunological Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Petrylak has authored and co-authored over 100 publications and has been featured in prominent journals, including Clinical Cancer Research, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Nature, Journal of Urology, New England Journal of Medicine, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. .
