Spencer also serves as a Nurse Practitioner with The Urology Group, and volunteers at local free clinics. Spencer’s primary focus is on women’s health, specifically urinary incontinence, women's sexual health and pelvic floor dysfunction. She has a special interest in functional medicine. She opened the doors to her own business three years ago to help women get to the root cause of their symptoms in a more holistic way.
Spencer earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Afterwhich, she earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Spencer then received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins.
Spencer has given many lectures locally and nationally on urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction both in academia as well as the community setting. She has also published several journal articles discussing urinary topics as well as nursing education. Spencer previously served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Georgetown University where she served as faculty involved with the on campus program and helped develop the online program for the University. She has also been affiliated with Marymount University in their online FNP program. She has mentored many Nurse Practitioner students over the years. She has also volunteered her time at Bay St. Louis during the Katrina Hurricane catastrophe in 2006 and travelled internationally to Amazonas Brazil, Belize, and Guatemala to give out medical care to those in need.
