ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Robert J. Evans, MD, FACS Dr. Robert J. Evans, is a Professor in the Departments of Urology and Gynecology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He directs the clinic operations of the department at Wake Forest. Dr. Evans specializes in pelvic pain syndrome, including painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis and complex voiding dysfunction. Dr. Evans holds board certification from, and is a diplomate of, the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Interstitial Cystitis Association and serves on the association’s Medical Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Interstitial Cystitis Network Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Evans is currently also evaluating the use of bladder biopsy and genomic evaluation to subtype patients with IC/BPS. Dr. Evans has received the honor of being named the IC Network’s Doctor of the Year award six times, every year it has been awarded . Dr. Evans serves as an invited lecturer at medical and educational venues nationwide. His articles have been published in a variety of peer reviewed journals.
